The Telangana government is bolstering the health department by increasing budgetary allotments to promote public health and address situations like COVID-19.

According to Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, the budgetary allocation for the health sector increased from Rs 2,100 crore in 2014 to around Rs 12,360 crore in 2023–24. He pointed out that losses would be modest where health systems are robust, whereas where they are bad, many people would pass away, and losses would be significant. Following negotiations with the health minister and department personnel, the government is bolstering the health department by significantly boosting the financial allocation.

Mr. Rao said the campaign aims to prevent childrens growth from being stunted. Rao also announced the distribution of nutrition kits to avoid malnutrition and anemia in pregnant mothers.

He suggested that officials of the health department and the largest state-run hospitals make plans to enhance and extend health service availability.

The Chief Minister added that political figures, the media, and other individuals frequently criticize the health department for hospital services.

Increasing the departments public relations would raise awareness of its services; therefore, he urged officials and Health Minister T Harish Rao to do so. He also urged the health personnel to continue serving the public with the appropriate devotion.
